(FeaturedNews.com) – Alena Analeigh Wicker is similar to many other teenage girls her age. Much like most other 13-year-olds, she enjoys going out with friends, playing sports, and going to the movie theater. However, while she might appear like a normal 13-year-old, she is much more than that.  Wicker just recently got accepted into medical school.

Alena is currently a student at both Arizona State University and Oakwood University, where she is working on two different degrees in biological sciences. As she has claimed, what has allowed her to progress so far are her great time management skills and her exceptional discipline.

Last May, Alena was accepted at the University of Alabama’s Heersink School of Medicine for 2024 as part of its Early Assurance Program, which provides early admission to certain candidates that meet strict requirements. Alena is going to be more than 10 years younger than the average student going into medical school.

Alena is currently completing all of her courses online and really believes that there is no such thing as being too young to do what you want to do. Her mother, Daphne McQuarter, claims that she first noticed that her toddler was special when she found her reading chapter books by the age of three. Picking up new skills came easy to her.

When she enrolled in school, she would often get bullied for her academic capabilities, which is why her mother decided homeschooling her would work best. However, in fifth grade, she switched back to traditional school and took some more advanced classes. With the pandemic, Alena started expanding what her course load looked like, breezing through subjects like algebra, geometry, and biology. She graduated from high school at 12 and then continued on to university.
