Angry Customer Takes Matters Into Her Own Hands

The restaurant industry is currently facing a large labor shortage, which recently led to one customer at Chipotle doing something completely unexpected. The incident was recorded by another customer, Nikki, and was posted on TikTok where it quickly gathered 185,000 views.

The clip shows the disgruntled woman making her way behind the counter to start cashing out orders. No one seemed to say anything, despite how odd the situation was.

Everyone seemed confused, but they just continued on with their work. Apparently, during her time behind the counter, the woman also helped two customers before walking away.

Those who saw the video online found it hilarious, while many others were sympathetic to the Chipotle employees who have been overworked in the short-staffed restaurants.

Chipotle is not the only restaurant nationwide facing staff shortages, as there is an overall labor shortage in the restaurant industry following the COVID-19 pandemic. Many businesses are desperately trying to fill the necessary positions during this slowing economy.

According to a National Restaurant Association survey, from July 14 to August 5, 84 percent of restaurant operators said that they would attempt to hire more employees in the coming months if qualified staff becomes available.
