(FeaturedNews.com) – On Sunday, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump delivered similar messages of unity following the Trump rally where a man tried to assassinate the former President.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote “UNITE AMERICA!” This post came only a day after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks had shot at Trump from a rooftop close to his campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The bullet pierced Trump’s ear but otherwise, the former President was unharmed.

On Sunday, Biden delivered his remarks in which he condemned the assassination attempt and noted that he had launched an independent review of the incident. In his remarks, he noted that this is not who they are and that they could not allow such things to happen in the United States. Only three minutes after Biden’s remarks ended, Trump took the opportunity to also share his own message of unity on his social media platform Truth Social.

In his post, Trump argued that it is in such moments that it becomes important for them to show their characters as Americans and stand united so as to stop evil from winning. He added that he loved the U.S. and its people and he was looking forward to talking to Americans this week from Wisconsin. He also urged Americans to remain “Strong and Determined.”

Only minutes earlier, Trump had also written in a post that he was leaving for Milwaukee where the Republican National Convention was scheduled to take place. He added that while he had considered delaying the trip he had opted against it.

The RNC started on Monday as normal.
