(FeaturedNews.com) – In a recent interview aired on Sunday morning, President Biden stated that the United States is running low on ammunition, more specifically 155mm artillery ammunition rounds. The President defended his administration’s decision to provide cluster munition to Ukraine during what he called a “transition period” that will allow the U.S. to resupply 155 weapons and shells.
Many on social media criticized the President’s decision to broadcast that the U.S. is having an ammunition shortage on national television, arguing that this could be viewed by some of the country’s adversaries.
Logan Dobson, a political operative, ridiculed Biden, stating that he “love(s)” how the U.S. president has gone on CNN to reveal that the country is low on ammunition. This point was also noted by Steve Guest, a conservative communicator who pointed out that Biden had broadcasted the country’s weakness.
Byron York of the Washington Examiner stated that while Biden is not entirely clear on what he is saying, it appears that he is stating that the country was running low on ammunition because of the cluster munition being sent to Ukraine. He added that this means that the aid the country is providing to others is now affecting the U.S.’s ability to defend itself.
A White House official, in an email to Fox News Digital, attempted to backtrack Biden’s claims, stating that the military had exact requirements on what ammunition needed to be kept in the reserves and that all ammunition sent to Ukraine is not taken from those reserves. This would mean that the country itself is not low on ammunition.
