(FeaturedNews.com) – A new interim report by the GOP House Judiciary Committee staff has found that the Biden administration has allegedly lost track of millions of migrants who have crossed into the country along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The 61-page report notes that so far in the 2023 fiscal year there have been more than 2.2 million encounters with illegal migrants. Further data showed that the Biden administration could not confirm whether over 2.4 million migrants who had entered the country since January 2021 have departed. It further notes that the unprecedented migration crisis has led to certain Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers being forced to not proceed with alien removals or arrests, including in cases of criminal aliens.
The report further notes that the Biden administration’s policies have led to lower numbers of arrests and removals. It added that the Subcommittee and Committee will continue their oversight of the administration’s open border policies. This further helps with informing the legislative reforms proposed by the House in order to help secure the U.S. border and make reforms to immigration.
The Judiciary Committee report also found that for the 31st month in a row, the number of border encounters has been above 100,000. This would mean that since Biden took office there has not been a single month in which the number of encounters was slower than 100,000. Fox News Digital in their reported data stated that in September the number of encounters was above 260,000.
Since Biden took office in 2021, there have been over 1.7 million known “gotaways” that have managed to enter the United States while evading border patrol.
