Biden Mocks Trump Over FBI Raid
President Biden on Friday dismissed claims made by former president Trump regarding the declassification of the White House documents the latter had stored in his Florida residence after leaving office.
Biden completely dismissed the claim that the documents held at the Mar-a-Lago estate, were declassified only hours after the Justice Department chose to release an affidavit with new information on the content of the material.
Biden said “I’ve declassified everything in the world. I’m president.” He then added while making wild gestures with his hands, “Come on.”
Biden was reportedly speaking to reporters stationed outside the White House when questions about the investigation into Trump started being asked. However, Biden did not respond to most of the questions, simply saying that it would be the Justice Department’s job to take care of the investigation.
There have been many questions regarding the way that Trump handled classified material, especially following the FBI investigation into his residence earlier this month. According to reports the search related to materials kept by Trump that were sensitive.
Regarding the search, only a redacted affidavit has been released by the Department of Justice.
According to the document, a total of 15 boxes containing 184 classified, secret, or top secret documents were restored from the Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump has defended his actions by saying that all the materials he took were declassified. However, many former Trump administration officials have noted that they were not informed about an order to declassify any materials.
Biden has so far not made any comments about the search into Trump’s residence.
