(FeaturedNews.com) – In a recent report, Fox News Digital showed images of the new ID that the Biden administration is preparing for illegal immigrants. These will be part of the attempts made by officials to track the number of migrants released into the U.S. interior.
Last year, Fox News and several other outlets reported on the ICE Secure Docket Card program, which, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, will modernize the identification documents given to noncitizens released into the country. The documents will be given to those migrants who, after illegally arriving at the border, are released into the U.S. rather than being removed. Depending on the situation of each migrant, they could be given several different documents.
According to the images in the report, the new identification card will include a photograph, a QR code, the ICE logo, and much of the security and identifying information of the individual.
Previously, the ICE had announced that the new IDs would include photographs, security features, and biographic identifiers. The program was reportedly still in development, and depending on the outcome of the pilot, they would consider further expansions to it.
On Thursday, an ICE spokesperson stated that the “ICE secure docket card concept is a pilot program” still being developed. He added that the secure cards will not be considered an official federal identification form and will instead be considered an indication that the national security background tests required have been performed.
