(FeaturedNews.com) – On Monday, Eva Longoria is going to be headlining a campaign event for President Joe Biden which is specifically looking to mobilize Latinas in Arizona.
The Biden campaign has argued that the event is specifically looking to bring Latinas from every generation in and to motivate more family members within the community in Arizona to not support former President Donald Trump. As argued, Trump has throughout his political campaign demonized Latinos and has been pushing for an agenda that has been devastating to Latino families.
This would not be the first time that Longoria has been involved in politics in an attempt to boost the performance of the Democratic presidential candidate. In 2012, she had been one of the national co-chairs in the reelection campaign of then-President Barack Obama.
During the 2016 presidential race, Longoria had also spoken up against Mike Pence, arguing that Mexicans were not a “thing” after Pence, who was the vice presidential candidate at the time, had argued that the Democrats had “whipped out that Mexican thing again.”
The “Desperate Housewives” star is from Texas and had spoken during the Democratic National Conventions in 2016 and 2020. Last year, Longoria’s directorial debut “Flamin’ Hot” was also shown at the White House by the Bidens.
Last month, a poll found that more Latinos were starting to support former President Trump, while Biden’s favorability among the group had dropped by 6 points since last summer. The survey was conducted by Axios/Ipsos and showed that in June 2023 favorability had been at 47 percent while last month it had dropped to 41 percent. For Trump, his favorability rating had increased from 29 percent to 32 percent.
