Bizarre Starbucks Order Sparks Confusion and Disbelief
One Starbucks customer’s orders have left the internet in shock as the man allegedly ordered 20 espresso shots of coffee in one order. This is three times higher than the recommended amount of caffeine for a person to consume in each drink.
The order was shared by Starbucks barista Stephanie, who said that this is a regular order where she works by a customer every single morning. As part of the order, the Starbucks owner included twenty shots of espresso with five pumps of classic syrup, all in one single cup. As she explained, this is a daily order made by a lady.
The total for the order is $22.57, and it is paid every single day by the customer. As the user pointed out in her caption, that is a ton of espresso for one person to consume every single day. Since the video was posted by the username @sk_d0ntplay, it has gained 500,000 views in 48 hours.
The barista also confirmed in the comments that this order is just for her, and that she has asked the customer before if she really does drink the coffee. The customer then tasted the coffee in front of the barista as proof.
The National Coffee Association has said that 70 percent of people aged between 18 and 24 drink coffee daily in the morning. The percentage increases to 90 percent for older drinkers.
The normal is one coffee, which would make the 20 espresso shorts far more than the normal or recommended amount of coffee. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 400 milligrams are the safe amount of coffee for adults daily. Her coffee order is around 1,500 milligrams meaning that it is 3 times above the safe amount for consumption.
