(FeaturedNews.com) – In San Antonio, Texas, a confrontation over a stolen vehicle on Thursday, July 27 led to the death of the suspect while another person is still in critical condition in the hospital.
The shooting had occurred at SouthPark Mall, San Antonio, after the owner of the stolen vehicle had managed to track down his stolen vehicle in the parking lot. The owner proceeded to confront the man and woman who were in his vehicle.
William McManus, the San Antonio Police Chief revealed during a press conference that the truck’s owner had removed the two people from his truck while holding them at gunpoint. He then forced them to sit on the ground next to his truck while he called the police so that they could come to the scene.
However, while they were waiting, the suspect had taken a gun out of his waistband and fired at the owner. Following this, the owner who got wounded, fired shots against the man in “self defense,” ultimately killing him. The woman who had been in the vehicle also ended up getting injured by the gunshots.
In a video posted from the incident on Facebook, the man can be seen lying flat on the ground while the woman’s leg is covered in blood.
McManus stated that the shooting had taken place only two minutes after the owner had called the police; he did not specify how much time it took the police to reach the scene. The suspected thief had died in the parking lot, while the woman remained in critical condition at the hospital. The truck owner was also treated for his wounds and is in stable condition.
