(FeaturedNews.com) – Officials in Washington, D.C., have reported that a trio of local enterprises were targeted with explosive mechanisms and a firebomb on Sunday.
The District’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) disclosed in a press statement that the alleged assaults transpired in a time frame of 15 minutes in the city’s Northeast quadrant.
Around 4:30 a.m., an unidentified individual reportedly ignited an explosive apparatus on the pavement adjacent to the Truist Bank’s ATM, leading to property destruction, as per the police.
A mere six minutes later, it was reported that the same individual set off another explosive on the walkway in front of the Nike Store’s entrance, resulting in additional damage.
Roughly nine minutes following this, the assailant allegedly hurled an object resembling a Molotov cocktail at the Safeway store, inflicting further harm.
In all three incidents, the assailant reportedly left the scenes in a motor vehicle. The vehicle was described as a golden/champagne-colored Acura TL bearing a Maryland registration plate.
The MPD, in its press statement, noted that the assailant appeared to be focusing on commercial premises and there’s no indication that the public was being targeted. The businesses were not operational at the time of the attacks. No injuries were reported from these incidents.
The MPD in collaboration with the Washington Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives are offering a reward of up to $20,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the individuals involved in these incidents.
