China Ramps Up Military Flights Over Taiwanese Airspace as Invasion Looms Nearer

China Blatantly Invades Restricted Taiwanese Airspace – Invasion Imminent?

(FeaturedNews.com) – China wrapped up a round of military flights over the weekend that had Taiwanese aircraft and air defenses on high alert. According to the Daily Mail, Beijing said the flights were standard missions to test combat range and readiness. Warplanes flew over the island for three consecutive days, eliciting a defensive response from Taiwan.

The flight consisted of 18 warplanes on May 6, prompting Taiwan to counter by activating its air defenses and launching its aircraft. China seems to be increasing the number of flights over Taiwan. Many believe this is a dire warning that the People’s Republic will soon try to reclaim Taiwan — an area it does not recognize as a free and sovereign country.

The flights, which the Taiwanese took as an obvious sign of aggression, were repeated on Saturday and Sunday but lacked a response from Taiwan’s military. Last week, a Chinese naval group sailed between Okinawa and mainland Japan near Taiwan in what could be a bold show of force. The move appears similar to the Russian military buildup before the invasion of Ukraine. Experts have long held that China will likely, at some point, attempt to follow in Russia’s footsteps and reclaim a piece of itself it lost long ago.
