(FeaturedNews.com) – Following Thursday’s first presidential debate hosted by CNN, where President Biden and former President Donald Trump went head-to-head for the first time in the 2024 presidential cycle, the Democratic Party has been trying to provide support for Biden after his weak performance.
Former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has expressed support for Biden, taking to the social media platform X to state that she is planning on voting for Biden. In her Friday morning post, she also linked to the website for the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign, while also slamming former President Donald Trump who is currently the presumptive GOP nominee in the upcoming election.
As she pointed out in the upcoming election, there is a choice between someone who cares about Americans and their future and someone who is only interested in themselves.
In an op-ed in The New York Times Clinton had written that ahead of the presidential debate she had advised Biden that any attempt to refute the arguments brought forward by Trump would be futile and just a “waste of time.” The op-ed was published on Tuesday and in it she pointed out the record of the former President in an attempt to make a case for the second term of President Biden.
She continued by pointing out that this was an election between someone who was a convicted criminal and someone who had delivered important results for the American people. She added that regardless of how the debate went this should be an easy choice.
Vice President Harris, who was Biden’s surrogate on CNN, also argued in favor of Biden and argued that his presidency should not be judged based on the 90 minutes of the debate.
