(FeaturedNews.com) – After the 2020 presidential election, former President Trump’s allegations of it being illegitimate caused a significant backlash. During President Biden’s first press conference of the year, he made a similar comment, saying upcoming elections might not be fair or legitimate, which didn’t sit well with some people.
After Biden’s remarks during the January 19 press conference, reporters asked questions. The president expressed concern that failure to pass congressional bills federalizing elections and rolling back voting rules in some states would jeopardize election integrity.
CNN hosts quickly pointed out the hypocrisy in Biden’s statement.

Dana Bash, Jake Tapper, and John King seemed shocked to hear Biden say elections may become illegitimate. They all compared him to former President Trump. King suggested it was odd to hear a president other than Trump raise questions about election integrity. Bash agreed. Tapper pointed out that Biden basically said he would not accept the midterm election results if Congress fails to pass the voting legislation.
Tapper also suggested that the media and Democrats made it clear they despised Trump for saying what he did about the election’s legitimacy. Abby Phillip, a CNN Senior Political Correspondent, noted that the delivery of Biden’s remarks could sow uncertainty in voters. Without trust in the system, it becomes difficult to convince people to head to the polls.
Could Biden’s remarks impact the midterm elections since the voting bills did fail to pass?
