(FeaturedNews.com) – Former South Carolina Governor and Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is once again pushing for a “younger generation” of congressional leaders to take over following the second time when Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had frozen up while talking to reporters on Wednesday.

During an appearance on CBS News’s “Face the Nation,” Haley once again stated that she believes term limits should be introduced and argued that all those elected officials who are over a certain age should be required to complete mental competency tests. She further pointed out that this is something applicable to both sides which have many seasoned leaders.

Haley questioned at what point leaders should step down and allow for a younger generation to emerge. She added that it was important for the country’s future to ensure that they would have a strong national security and economic policy and this is not possible when there are individuals who are unwilling to give up the power they have.

She proceeded to describe this as a congressional problem, arguing that congressional leaders needed to know when it was time to leave and to let a new generation of leaders emerge for the country to become a better place.

On Wednesday, while speaking with reporters, McConnell froze for around 20 to 30 seconds. This is the second time that he has frozen while speaking with reporters. McConnell has claimed that according to his doctors, this is a result of the lightheadedness he has experienced following his concussion earlier this year.
