(FeaturedNews.com) – Democratic leaders have been publicly praising Joe Biden stating that he is the party’s best chance for success in the 2024 presidential election. However, behind the scenes, many Democrats are still considering who might be the best potential candidate that could beat former President Donald Trump in 2024.
Former White House and Pentagon official Douglas MacKinnon said if not Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, then the Democrats might need to turn their attention to some previously big names in the party.
Among the possible names mentioned is that of former first lady Michelle Obama, who was also considered to be a possible option during the last Democratic presidential primary. McKinnon has specifically labeled Obama as having an “it” factor that could help her become the top candidate. However, Michelle Obama has repeatedly claimed in the past that she was not going to place a bid on the White House.
A recent Politico article revealed that Biden has to face the doubts of some “high-level Democrats” who are only supporting Biden because they don’t know what a possible ticket without Biden on it would look like. As the report said they support Biden not because they consider him the best option, but rather because they fear the alternative which is Kamala Harris being the Democratic nominee and losing the election to Donald Trump.
