Democrat Charged After HORRIFIC Allegations Reported!
(FeaturedNews.com) – A prominent Kentucky Democrat who served as both a state official and lawmaker turned himself in to police on Monday for a charge of first-degree rape. John Tilley, former secretary of the state’s Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, posted $25,000 bail, according to documents obtained by the Lexington Herald-Leader. His time out of jail, however, didn’t last long.
Tilley came up with the cash and went home at approximately 9 p.m. on August 8 and was scheduled to appear in court the next morning for arraignment. The seriousness of the allegations landed the accused rapist back in lockup with no bond after that hearing. The Herald-Leader says a statement from defense attorneys Christopher Spedding and Steve Shroering adamantly denies any wrongdoing on their client’s behalf. The partners point out that Tilley cooperated fully with the investigation and turned himself in when charged.

The former legislator’s alleged victim claims he had intercourse with her when she was too intoxicated to consent. The incident supposedly occurred on April 15 but it took investigators until now to build a case and issue an arrest warrant.
Ironically, as a state representative, Tilly pushed to make rape kits more available. He also raised questions about prison overcrowding. If convicted, he could spend 10 to 20 years in jail.
