Democrats Ask Biden Not to Run Again
A progressive grassroots organization connected to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) launched a campaign called “Don’t Run Joe” in New Hampshire on Wednesday. The campaign is called RootsAction, and they are aiming to dissuade President Biden from running for the White House again in 2024.
In the statement they released on Wednesday, the organization wrote that it is evident that Biden should not be the Democratic Presidential nominee, and that someone else should take his place in the next election.
The digital ads for the campaign have been running across New Hampshire. This is just the beginning as the campaign is going to gradually be released across the country. In the advertisement, it is stated that Joe Biden’s low approval ratings make him run a gamble and that the Democratic party could not afford to lose the 2024 election.
RootsAction is sponsoring the campaign but they have also stated that they hope to see more organizations sign on eventually. According to the latest Reuters-Ipsos poll, Biden’s approval ratings have dropped back down to 39 percent. In July, the group had said that voters want to see Biden get out of the way.
The Democratic nominee will most likely have to face off against either former President Trump or Florida Governor DeSantis in the upcoming presidential elections.
The president would likely face a tough hurdle against the 2024 Republican nominee, widely said to be either Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis or former President Trump.
