(FeaturedNews.com) – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear called Senator — and VP-hopeful — JD Vance a “fake” and “phony.”
Beshear’s (D) comments come after Vance (R-Ohio) criticized Democrats, specifically Vice President Kamala Harris, for not publicly raising concerns about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity sooner.
On Monday, during his interview on CNN’s “The Source,” Beshaer told host Kaitlin Collins that Vance was “grasping for straws” with his most recent criticism.
“Listen, JD Vance is a phony. He’s a fake,” Beshear stated before referencing previous disparaging remarks Vance made about Trump, in which the Ohio Senator claimed Trump was “like Hitler.”
Beshear added that Vance’s problem is “he has no conviction,” adding that “his running mate has 34,” a nod to Trump’s recent convictions on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
The Kentucky Governor, who has been floated as a potential running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris, was responding to a clip of Vance at his first solo rally in Ohio. The clip showed Vance criticizing Democrats for knowing about Biden’s “mental capacity to do the job” for three and a half years, claiming the Vice President, his Senate colleagues, and the media all knew and lied about Biden’s capabilities.
Vance claimed “every single person who saw” Biden knew the President “wasn’t capable of doing the job,” highlighting that Democrats knew this for three-and-a-half years but didn’t do anything until Biden “became political deadweight.”
Taylor Van Kirk, a spokesperson for Vance, fired back at Beshear’s remarks, highlighting that Vance “came from a poor family,” and didn’t grow up “with a silver spoon in his mouth,” unlike Beshear, who she claimed could “never relate to” Vance.
