(FeaturedNews.com) – Democrats in Wisconsin are toying with constitutional law, claiming that three Conservative incumbent Republicans are ineligible for their duly-elected offices. They believe supporting Donald Trump’s call to investigate claims of election irregularities proves the leaders were involved in some form of plot to overthrow the US government.
Wisconsin Leftists filed suit against state Senator Ron Johnson and GOP Representatives Tom Tiffany and Scott Fitzgerald, accusing the trio of contributing to events that ultimately led to the events of January 6, 2021. They call that an “insurrection.”

Under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, no person who engages in an insurrection against the United States government will be eligible to hold any office in the land. Should the suit be successful, only a two-thirds majority vote from both chambers of Congress can remove the penalty.
The issue then becomes the matter of the word insurrection. The court will decide if the events of January 6 qualify, which will likely set off a flurry of appeals and similar suits, ending in political theater.
The tactic already failed once. A federal judge tossed a similar case against Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), citing 19th-century case law that set a precedent over the rule, allowing only a small number of Confederates to be excluded from office.
