(FeaturedNews.com) – The Democratic party is going to be reimbursing First Lady Jill Biden’s transatlantic flights between France and the United States as she is dealing with official duties in the foreign country while also appearing in Hunter Biden’s trial. It is likely that the costs of all of these travels will fall on taxpayers.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, the first lady’s office had pointed out that in accordance with the regulations that are used across administrations, the United States government would be covering the costs of the first-class fare for the flights between Paris and Wilmington.
The Democratic National Committee is reportedly going to be providing the funds to reimburse the flights of the first lady. The Pentagon determined the reimbursement rates for travel on the White House planes.
Last week, it was estimated that Jill Biden had spent around 24 hours going between Delaware and France in order to appear in both the court proceedings of Hunter Biden and in the commemorative D-Day events in Normandy.
Hunter Biden has been accused of lying in official forms by hiding his drug addiction while he illegally purchased and possessed a firearm. Biden has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
First ladies usually use the Boeing 747s, which are the planes also used for the iconic Air Force One, and cost around $200,000 for each hour of flight time. While the flights are covered by the Democratic Party, the security and staffing costs are most likely going to be handled by the taxpayers.
