(FeaturedNews.com) – The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has initiated a unique campaign in Eagle Pass, Texas, coinciding with former President Donald Trump’s visit to the southern border. The DNC is deploying a mobile billboard that showcases a video critiquing Trump’s approach to immigration, specifically targeting his role in derailing a recent bipartisan border agreement.
The video presented on the billboard focuses on Trump’s immigration policies, particularly the family separations at the border, featuring various news segments and excerpts from Trump’s speeches. It accuses Trump of scuttling the bipartisan border deal for political reasons, stating, “Trump doesn’t care about securing the border. He only cares about himself.”
Additionally, the DNC is expanding its campaign to the digital realm, placing advertisements on the homepage of the Eagle Pass News Leader, the community’s newspaper. Alex Floyd, the DNC rapid response director, criticized Trump’s visit to Eagle Pass as a self-serving act, emphasizing Trump’s influence in convincing MAGA Republicans to reject significant border security reforms proposed in the bipartisan deal.
As Trump focuses on Eagle Pass, President Biden is engaging with officials in Brownsville, Texas, another border town. The Biden campaign is keen to highlight Trump’s interference in the bipartisan border deal’s failure. The deal, which had bipartisan support in the Senate and White House backing, was blocked by House Republicans following Trump’s advice, with the Speaker of the House declaring it dead on arrival.
Trump has recently criticized Biden in the wake of the tragic death of Georgia college student Laken Riley, attributing an increase in migrant-related crime to Biden’s policies. The DNC, through Floyd, asserts that voters will recognize Trump’s prioritization of his political interests over national security and the well-being of the American public when voting this November.
