(FeaturedNews.com) – Governor Ron DeSantis’ team allegedly threatened to call the police on former President Donald Trump’s supporters who had gathered in a demonstration outside one of DeSantis book signing events at Leesburg, Florida mall on Tuesday afternoon. The small group of supporters had been carrying Trump signs and flags. However, according to the video recorded by far-right activist Laura Loomer, which was later posted on Twitter, they were told to leave the mall parking lot.

DeSantis’ event is part of his book promotional tour for his new book “The Courage to Be Free.” However, it is also widely speculated that he is planning on launching his own campaign for the White House in 2024. If that is the case then Trump and DeSantis will need to directly face one another in the Republican primary.

On Tuesday, the increased tension between the two sides of the same party was clearly visible, as in a different video posted from the incident a security officer was telling the Trump supporters that DeSantis’ team had stated that they were on “private property” and as such needed to leave.

Loomer, who previously ran unsuccessfully for Congress in both 2020 and 2022, was central to the demonstrations. During the incident, she kept calling out DeSantis claiming that while he states that he supports “free speech” he is threatening to have cops come to the area against Trump’s supporters.
