Disney President Wants at Least Half of Characters to Be LGBTQIA

(FeaturedNews.com) – A leaked video of a Disney internal zoom call revealed an interesting campaign developing within the company. Journalists at the Manhattan Institute’s City Journal caught executives talking about making Disney more inclusive through its Reimagine Tomorrow campaign. The meeting featured general entertainment president Karey Burke, who promised that half or more of the characters in Disney productions moving forward would be from racial minorities or part of the LGBTQIA community.

She said this policy would go into effect by the end of 2022. Burke explained she is the mother of a transgender child and a pansexual child, so this subject hits close to home.

Television animation executive producer Latoya Raveneau also jumped on board, showing her support for adding queerness to productions. She noted she’s been doing it all along with nobody stopping her from injecting her beliefs into her work.

Diversity and inclusion chief Vivian Ware explained the parks no longer allow greetings to include the terms ladies, gentlemen, boys, or girls. Instead, for inclusivity, they will call people dreamers of all ages and friends. They are also working on removing gendered pronoun use throughout the parks.

Has Disney gone too far with its new policies? Is the company going to alienate parents with its decisions? Or is this new campaign exactly what fans want?
