Twitter CEO Elon Musk, in a now-deleted tweet, said that he was relieved to see that the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is going to be ending his chairmanship next month.
Schiff had been a longstanding critic of Musk, who he claims has contributed to a rise in hate speech and misinformation on Twitter. On Friday, Schiff also made comments regarding the suspension of many journalists from the platform. Schiff had written that while Musk advocates for free speech and he has often turned a blind eye to those who promote hate speech on the platform, that same free speech stance does not extend to the journalists who reported on some news that painted Musk in an unfavorable light. Schiff added that it was hypocritical of Musk to have banned those journalists without warning.
In response to that, Musk said that it is a good thing Schiff’s chairmanship is coming to an end. He also added that his “brain is too small.” However, the critical tweet which was first posted on Sunday morning, was soon deleted.
On the same day as the tweet Musk traveled to Doha, Qatar for the final game of the World Cup. There he was spotted with Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former President Trump.
