(FeaturedNews.com) – Former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, who had been one of the Republican presidential candidates, has demanded that a group that claims to represent her former voters who are now supporting Vice President Kamala Harris stop using her name.
On Tuesday, Haley shared a statement with Fox News in which she argued that she and Harris were completely opposite on every single issue and that it was deceptive for them to be using her name while trying to support Harris’s agenda. She noted that her support was for former President Donald Trump in the election as he understood what is needed in order for the country to become strong once again.
The political action committee (PAC) “Haley Voters for Biden” recently changed its name following the announcement that President Biden had dropped out of the race on Sunday, to express support for Harris, who is the presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee.
However, Haley, who had launched her presidential bid last year, has opposed this PAC’s name, since after dropping out of the presidential race in early March she has expressed her support for Trump, formally endorsing him last week during the Republican National Convention. Even after Haley had ended her presidential campaign she continued to gain around 20 percent of the vote in the subsequent Republican primaries.
The group claims to be a coalition of former Haley voters who are now supporting Harris. The group also officially changed its name to represent the change in its support for Harris. In a statement, they noted that they have never claimed to represent Haley’s position and that they are just a subset of her voters who are choosing to support Harris in the upcoming election.
