(FeautredNews.com) – According to reports by the New York Times, Hillary Clinton, former Democratic Presidential candidate, blamed women voters for her 2016 loss, suggesting women chose not to vote for her because she had to be “perfect.”
Clinton claims that after James Comey, FBI director at the time, re-opened an investigation into her email servers, female voters deserted her.
In her interview with the Times, Clinton claims female voters left her because “they… couldn’t take a risk on me,” adding that because she was a woman running for the Oval Office, she had to “be perfect.”
Clinton also decried that voters could “take a risk on [former President Donald] Trump,” despite what she described as a lengthy list of “flaws” illustrating his imperfection[s], “but since Trump is a man, voters could “envision a man as President.”
Clinton’s interview with The Times comes as she promotes her latest book, “The Fall of Roe: The Rise of a New America.” In the interview, Clinton raised the alarm about what she believes a second Trump term would look like. Clinton claimed to The Times that her earlier warnings about abortion rights had been overlooked by many across the country, however, since the fall of Roe v. Wade, Democrats and the Biden-Harris campaign have prioritized abortion as a central component of their campaign.
Clinton claimed that “too many young women” didn’t understand the efforts to create the Roe v. Wade framework, although she had campaigned to make Roe “safe and legal.” The former Secretary of State also blamed Democrats for being too complacent and underestimating the pro-life movement’s strength.
She highlighted that in the past, the Democratic Party hadn’t taken the pro-life movement “seriously,” describing the movement as a “threat,” adding that most Democrats didn’t recognize there was an ongoing “existential struggle” for the country’s future.
