Hollywood Star Explains Why She's Glad Her Mother Died

Hollywood Icon CELEBRATES Tragic Death!

(FeaturedNews.com) – Jennette McCurdy spent the better part of her teen years as a child star on Nickelodeon. She was a hit as the supporting actress on “iCarly,” a show about an internet vlogger and her friends and all their silly antics. But behind the scenes, the happy-go-lucky “Sam” was trapped in a disturbing reality the young thespian now talks about in her memoir, “I’m Glad My Mom Died.”

The shocking title isn’t hyperbole to sell books. McCurdy told the Hollywood Reporter she’d never use such a tactic — unless it was true. Apparently, the 30-year-old is actually glad her mother, who died of cancer in 2013, is no longer in her life. The author recounts a lot of darkness in her past. Her mother had aspirations of stardom that she reportedly pushed on her daughter, forcing her into a life she never really enjoyed. She also said she felt controlled and emotionally abused for most of her acting career.

McCurdy also made it big with “Sam and Kat,” a spinoff with Ariana Grande of the hit show “Victorious.” Things at home, however, still weren’t all that great. The newly-minted headliner descended into an eating disorder to help satisfy her mother’s ambition. She reveals inappropriate behavior with someone referred to only as “The Creator,” which may refer to former network executive Dan Schneider, who left amid a sea of controversy in 2018. She claims the Creator would have angry outbursts and encouraged her to drink alcohol while she was still a minor.

Ultimately, the child star grew up and realized a therapeutic journey, culminating in her memoir, was far more rewarding than the career that, unfortunately, brought her far more heartache than joy.
