(FeaturedNews.com) – Joseph M. Czuba, 71, from Plainfield Illinois, is facing charges for allegedly murdering a 6-year-old boy and wounding his mother by stabbing her over a dozen times.
The Will County Sheriff’s office revealed that deputies arrived at the scene on Saturday morning, around 11:40 a.m., to respond to the stabbing between a landlord and renter. When they arrived at the scene, they found Czuba sitting close to the driveway with cuts on his forehead. The man had allegedly attacked the mother and child because of their faith as the two are Muslims.
In response to the attack, President Biden released a statement against the “horrific act of hate” stating that he and the First Lady were sickened by the murder of the child and attempted murder of the child’s mother. He added that the Palestinian family had arrived in the United States in search of peace and that such an act was not aligned with the American values, nor did it have a place in the country.
As he pointed out, the nation’s fundamental values include the freedom to pray, believe, and be “who we are.” He then called for Americans to unite and reject Islamophobia and hatred. He further noted that there was no place for hate in the country and that everyone at the White House was sending their prayers and condolences to the family while also praying for the mother’s swift recovery.
Both victims and the suspect were taken to a hospital nearby where they could be treated for their wounds.
