Kamala Harris Caught RED-HANDED!
During an interview on Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris declared that the U.S. southern border was “secure.” This statement was repeated twice even though thousands of illegal immigrants have been crossing the border each month.
The interview on “Meet the Press” was aired on the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. During her talk with NBC News anchor Chuck Todd, the vice president was called to answer questions about the security of the southern border.
To these questions, she said that the Trump administration had “broken” the immigration system and that they were tasked with fixing it. Harris also said that as President Biden has said they need to create a clear pathway to citizenship and also fix the immigration system.
However, Todd disputed the claim that the border was secure saying that for the first time in history there have been close to two million people who have crossed the border.
Harris though maintained that the border is secure and keeping it as such was one of the primary concerns of the administration. She also said that they were trying to fix the gaps created by the previous administrations as well as to create legal pathways to citizenship.
Harris, who visited Texas last week, was tasked with dealing with the border crisis in 2021 after President Biden assumed office. However, this fiscal year with over two million migrant encounters, the migrant crisis has been heightened. Many are pointing to the Biden administration for their failure to slow down the rate of crossings.
Still, the administration is always trying to present the border crisis as under control.
