(FeaturedNews.com) – On Sunday, during an appearance on CBS “60 Minutes,” Vice President Kamala Harris stated that President Biden was “very much alive” and that he was planning on running for a second term in November 2024.

Host Bill Whitaker told Harris that they talked with Democratic donors who had stated that should something happen to President Biden and he end up dropping out of the presidential race, the race would turn to a “free for all.” He added that Harris is right in saying that she would be the natural choice that is next in line.

However, he pointed out that this was not a perspective shared by many donors and that they would not immediately fall in line.

Harris started off by arguing that she would not be engaging with such a hypothetical as Biden was alive and running in 2024. Still, Whitaker interjected arguing that this was a legitimate concern from many people.

Harris responded by saying that she heard many different things but that her focus was on her job as democracy was “on the line.” She then claimed that she did not have the time for “parlor games” when there was a sitting president running for a second term.

Following the announcement by Rep. Dean Phillips from Minnesota that he would be challenging Biden for the Democratic nomination, there have been many questions that have emerged about the Democratic primary. Phillips in his announcement had argued that he was looking to force the party to “pass the torch” to the next generation of leaders.

Harris was not asked about Phillips’ campaign during the interview.
