(FeaturedNews.com) – Colorado Democratic Rep. Jason Crow was applauded by all lawmakers after apologizing on behalf of his Congress colleagues about the outburst of Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden from Wisconsin towards a group of federal workers. During the questioning Crow apologized to the briefers of the Biden administration about the behavior exhibited by the lawmaker which has been described by some as “obnoxious” and “rude.” The comments were also confirmed by Rep. Judy Chu’s (D-Calif.) office.

The incident that prompted this apology occurred when Van Orden had called the White House briefers “incompetent” during a briefing about the Israel-Hamas war. The lawmaker had then alleged that he knew more about the conflict because he had served in the Middle East during two tours of duty.

Chu told Politico that Van Order had attacked the briefers and had been “rude” despite the fact that the briefers had “very substantive” information that they were given. Still, the lawmaker just attacked them stating that this was “the worst information” and they were “incompetent.” She added that the statement was made about all the information they were receiving.

In response to Van Orden’s contact, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) shouted out “Shame on you,” which resulted in Van Orden using an f-bomb against him.

Leadership in the Senate had previously denounced Van Orden’s behavior in July when he had yelled out profanity on a different occasion.

The outburst during this latest meeting was first reported by Politico.
