(FeaturedNews.com) – Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) slammed former President Donald Trump in a recent post on X.
In her post, she shared a video from Taylor Swift’s concert which was sold out, and thanked her for giving them a reason to smile. She proceeded to take a swipe at Trump telling him that this was actually what a sold-out crowd looks like.
The video shared by Cheney is a report from Swift’s London “Eras Tour” where the singer was joined on stage by boyfriend Travis Kelce during her “Tortured Poets Department” segment. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Kelce, and his Swift had garnered a lot of attention for their dance on stage.
There have been a lot of rumors about President Biden reportedly hoping to be able to get an endorsement from Swift for the upcoming election. Cheney, who is a vocal critic of the former President and lost her seat in the last election during the primary cycle where she faced a challenger that had Trump’s backing, praised Swift and referred to her as a “national treasure.”
In the past few weeks, Trump has made a number of references to Swift and has even stated during a House Republican closed-door meeting that she was “surprised” to not have received the support of the singer, according to Rep. Ben Cline (R-Va.).
Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh claimed in his new book that Trump had previously referred to Swift as “unusually beautiful” and that he had said that he thinks the singer is liberal, which means that she likely does not like him.
