(FeaturedNews.com) – Former President Donald Trump has made a new court filing that relates to Trump providing the court with classified documents that are connected to the federal case against him connected to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack and the previous election. Trump’s supporters have expressed enthusiasm over the possible release of this information.
On Thursday, Trump’s legal team stated and alleged in the filing that the indictment had adopted the Intelligence Communities classified assessments and that there were occasions in which foreign actors had played a role in the previous election. They then pointed out that Trump was willing to present classified information that would help him support his currently unbacked claims. The documents would also provide influence in all the actions taken by the Trump administration to combat the activities in question.
In August, Special Counsel Jack Smith following an investigation led the Department of Justice to charge Trump on four criminal counts.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has set that the trial should start on March 4, 2024. During the trial, Trump is likely to stay true to his word regarding the past election, despite there being no evidence to support his claims.
Trump’s team has attempted to push back the date of the trial to April 2026, arguing that an earlier date was going to interfere with Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
