With the holidays coming up, many are preparing to spend time with family. On Dec. 12, writer Khalid El Khatib shared a tweet from an email that his mother sent him about his upcoming visit to their home in Dubuque, Iowa.
In the tweet, Khalid said that his “mom’s annual ‘home for the holidays’ email to me and my siblings just dropped.” Attached to the post was a screenshot of the email with all of the details of how he would “gain 15 lbs in one week.”
As part of the email, his mother had included a detailed plan of the menu for every single day. This included snacks that would be available when everyone arrived. It also included manicures and lunch at a winery, taco night, and a bunch of mouth-watering meals. While not everything is completely set in the itinerary, there was a whole lot of detail. Janet then asked her family for their preference on a number of different activities that they could do during the holidays.
At the end of the email, she concludes by asking what flavor cheesecake people would prefer on Christmas day, Snickers, raspberry, or blueberry?
In response to the tweet, many expressed how his mum was “holiday mom goals” and that she was the embodiment of where many people wanted to be in life.

Just called my mom to discuss the tweet; she loves it. She’s been reading all of the replies (“oh no, don’t ever do that,” I said). Here’s us last Christmas — her wearing her trademark jingle bell, me drinking from a Santa goblet.
