(FeaturedNews.com) – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in a recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, pushed for Vice President Kamala Harris to be banned after she called for a ban on assault weapons.
Last month, President Joe Biden appointed Harris to serve as the leader of the federal Office of Gun Violence Prevention. On Monday, Harris called again for Congress to pass a ban on assault weapons. As she wrote in an X post, there was no place for weapons in “civil society.” She then argued that it was necessary for them to pass a ban on assault weapons and called for Congress to pass a ban and send it to President Biden’s desk.
Greene, who is firmly against gun control, responded to Harris’ post by arguing that what the United States needed was for “communist politicians” like Harris to be banned. She then stated that Harris should be ashamed for attempting to destroy the right of Americans to defend themselves while at the same time supporting policies that have resulted in crime rates across the country surging. She further accused Harris of pushing policies that have allowed terrorists, gangs, and criminals to invade the country.
The Gun Violence Archive has reported that in 2023 there have been over 500 deaths in mass shootings. This included an elementary school shooting in March where three adults and three children had lost their lives. The shooter was killed by the police, and it was revealed that they had been armed with a pistol and two “assault-type” guns.
