(FeaturedNews.com) – On Saturday night, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson backed former President Donald Trump after he was projected to be the winner in the South Carolina primary.
During the first Trump administration, Johnson served as the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom. On Saturday following Trump’s swift win in the primary race, Johnson and his wife Suzanne had stood behind Trump as he delivered his victory speech.
Johnson, who belongs to the Johnson & Johnson founding family, has backed Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Earlier this month during an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo he had argued that Americans remembered how much better things were during the Trump administration both with gas and grocery prices, as well as with inflation and the situation at the border.
He then added that the most important thing was making sure that Trump returned to the White House, which appeared to be likely to happen.
On Saturday, Trump was quickly declared to be the winner in South Carolina against Nikki Haley who had served as the South Carolina governor for two terms. This latest victory in the primary race brings Trump one step closer to winning the 2024 Republican nomination.
During his speech in Columbia, South Carolina, Trump told supporters that this was a fantastic evening and that while they could celebrate for a few minutes they would need to return to doing work. This was a reference to the upcoming primary in Michigan and Super Tuesday which is coming up in the next couple of weeks.
