(FeaturedNews.com) – On Saturday, former President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, told MSNBC’s Alex Witt that it was “absurd” for people to believe that her uncle would go to jail willingly if needed because of breaking his gag order.

As she argued, Donald Trump would not be willing to go to jail for a night or even an afternoon, even though he said he would be “very proud” to do so.

Trump, who is currently in the middle of the New York falsifying business documents trial, has been fined $9,000 in total for violating the gag order. Judge Juan Merchan has ruled that for each violation Trump would face a $1,000 charge.

Mary Trump’s assessment had come only one day after her uncle had claimed that he would be “very proud” to go to jail for having violated his gag order. He has also argued that the gag order is a violation of his free speech rights as it is stopping him from talking about the prosecutors, witnesses, jurors, and even the family members of Judge Merchan.

Merchan has claimed that should Trump violate the order again then he might be facing jail time.

Mary Trump argued that she was hoping that if her uncle ended up being sent to prison, it would be “for real.” She highlighted that in that case he should be sent to prison where he should be treated in the same way that all other Americans are. She added that she does not believe that Trump would be able to handle being sent to jail and that she does not believe for a second that he would be willing to serve time.
