(FeaturedNews.com) – Nikki Haley, who announced that she would be running for the White House on Tuesday, one day later called for all politicians over the age of 75 to have to take mandatory “mental competency tests.” If such testing was implemented it would affect both President Biden and her ex-boss, former President Trump.
Haley kicked off her presidential campaign with a rally in Charleston, S.C., where she made a number of political promises, including imposing a term limit for Congress members and working to curb illegal immigration. She further promised to make cognitive tests mandatory for all officeholders over the age of 75. Haley has repeatedly said that the United States needed to have someone younger in office, this main point of her campaign in many ways criticizes both former President Donald Trump and President Biden.
Haley said that it was time to put an end to “permanent politician(s)”, she added that all politicians older than 75 years old should have to complete mental competency tests. Both of these statements have supporters in both parties. Many argue that both Biden and Trump are too old to be the ones sitting in the White House. If either one of them gets elected in the 2024 election, then during the hypothetical sworn-in ceremony Trump will be 78 years old, while Biden would be 82.
Republicans have repeatedly claimed that Biden’s cognitive abilities are impaired, citing his series of gaffes as evidence that he is not mentally in a position to be serving in the White House.
