(FeaturedNews.com) – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi grew visibly frustrated when ABC News reporter Rachel Scott asked her about President Biden continuing his presidential campaign. During an interaction in the halls of Congress, where Pelosi had previously argued that Biden needed to quickly make a decision on whether or not he was going to stay in the race, Scott had pressed Pelosi on whether or not she had any discussions with Biden regarding this. Pelosi had responded that she was not in a position to disclose what she talked about with the President.
Pelosi became increasingly irritated as Scott continued to press her, particularly when asked if she believed Biden should run for re-election. Pelosi highlighted that she would not make any statements on the matter in the hallway. Despite her initial reluctance though her letter reiterated that she believes Biden can win in the November election.
Pelosi’s comments come amid increasing pressure on Biden to reconsider his candidacy. While Biden has repeatedly stated his intention to remain in the race and his confidence in beating former President Trump, Pelosi’s remarks on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” seemed to suggest some uncertainty. Pelosi noted that it was up to Biden to decide and that time was of the essence. She expressed support for whatever decision Biden ultimately makes but argued that it was important for Biden to make a decision quickly.
Pelosi later clarified to CBS News’ Jaala Brown that her statements had been misrepresented, insisting she never suggested Biden should reconsider his decision. This incident highlights the ongoing scrutiny and debate in the media and within the party about Biden’s possible reelection.
