(FeaturedNews.com) – On Monday, in an interview on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki,” Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) slammed former President Donald Trump for his recent remarks about hoping that the United States economy would crash in the next 12 months.
Pelosi argued that Trump refers to himself as “the messiah” but that she guessed he did not know a lot about the “messiah.” She added that Trump has stated he wants the economy to crash, and most likely that he was unaware of the implications of such a thing on working families.
Earlier that day, Trump had claimed that the U.S. economy under President Joe Biden was going to end up crashing. He added that he was hopeful that such a crash would occur within the next 12 months. This would mean that the crash would take place while Biden was still in the White House and before the end of the 2024 presidential election. Trump is currently the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican primary nomination race.
Trump argued that he would not like to be elected into office only to have a term that is similar to former President Hoover, who had won the White House in 1929 only for the Great Depression to start a few months later.
Pelosi slammed Trump’s remarks arguing that they were just further proof of his insensitivity. She added that they were evidence of how Trump only cared about his political career and not the American public or the “interests of America’s working families.”
