(FeaturedNews.com) – For over two months, a Florida man was on the run. On Friday, after evading law enforcement successfully for two months, David Jerome Jackson, 31, was found hiding in a home’s clothes dryer.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson was wanted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, damage to property, and firing a gun into a dwelling for the March 15 incident.
Deputies received a tip on Friday that Jackson was hiding out at a home located on Edgewater Drive in Pensacola. After receiving a warrant to search the residence, deputies executed the warrant, searching for Jackson at the home. Following an extensive search of the residence, deputies entered the laundry room, where they found Jackson hiding in the “remarkably small” clothes dryer.
A statement from the sheriff’s office revealed that when deputies found Jackson, the fugitive’s expression was a combination of embarrassment, guilt, “and warm hosiery.” The statement also revealed deputies “pulled [Jackson] from the dryer one limb at a time,” adding that the fugitive continued to cling to his “tumble-ready hideout.” The deputies also removed “three dryer sheets… mismatched socks” and a tissue from Jackson’s “surprisingly wrinkled Star Wars shirt,” according to the statement.
The ordeal concluded with Jackson’s arrest and being booked into the county jail. The sheriff’s office also stated that the suspect would be presumed innocent and “free of static cling” until proven otherwise in court.
