Recalls Made After Children Strangled

Toys Recalled After Child Strangled

Tragic Accidents Leave 1 Dead, 1 Injured – RECALL ISSUED

(FeaturedNews.com) – Two 10-month-olds got wrapped in the straps hanging underneath their MamaRoo swings, which resulted in one suffering injuries and the other dying. Upon receiving the two separate reports, 4moms, a division of Thorley Industries, issued a voluntary recall on the popular rockers.

CEO of 4moms, Gary Waters, expressed his sympathy for the impacted families and sadness that the company’s products caused harm despite extensive care to ensure their safety. The issue with the MamaRoo swings occurs when the straps, which hold the child inside the seat during use, fall and dangle below the main component when vacant. The accidents occurred when the children crawled under the swings and got caught in the straps.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice alerts parents of infants who can crawl to keep the swings or rockers away from their children and advises everyone who owns one of the devices to contact the company for a special fastener. The fix will ensure the loose strap is no longer a safety risk.

Consumers can check their products to see if they’re part of the recall by looking on the bottom side for the model numbers. Rockers recalled will show 4M-012, and swings include 4M-005, 1026, and 1037.

Parents can request the fastener online or by calling 1-877-870-7390. The item is free, and shipping takes two to four weeks.
