(FeaturedNews.com) – Texas Governor Abbott responded to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s recent letter by stating that he had no plans of stopping his busing operations and transporting more migrants to Chicago and other sanctuary cities.

In his letter to Lightfoot, Abbot pointed out that it was “ironic” to have Lightfoot complain about her city, which was a “self-declared sanctuary city” having to deal with a few thousand migrants. He added that the number of migrants being moved to Chicago is minuscule when compared to the record-high number of migrants that Texas has had to deal with. He further alleges that following the end of Title 42, a Trump-era health policy that allowed for the expulsion of illegal immigrants without having to go through the asylum process, there is going to be an even further surge in migrants.

Lightfoot had originally sent a letter to Abbott a day earlier in which she requested that he put an end to the bussing operations. In the letter, she had noted that Chicago did not have the resources, or space to handle the surge in migration.

To this, Abbott replied that the solution to Lightfoot’s problems was to push the Biden administration for more control and stricter border policies. He added that until Biden addresses the migration crisis, he has no plans of stopping. The Biden administration is currently preparing to handle the expected influx in migration that will happen following the expiration of Title 42 on May 11.
