Scary Incident Happens to Biden’s Secret Service
President Joe Biden’s rented Secret Service vehicles burned while in a parking lot on Monday. This incident took place only one day after the President left for Nantucket.
Biden spent Thanksgiving with his entire family in Nantucket, however, the rented vehicle from Hertz, which was to be used for the transportation of the president and his family, burst into flames while parked in the parking lot. The footage from the scene shows the firefighters trying to spray down the remains of one of the vehicle’s engine blocks. The five vehicles that the Secret Service had rented included a Chevy Suburban, Ford Explorer, Infiniti QX80, Ford Expedition, and a Jeep Gladiator.
The vehicles which were parked at the Nantucket airport caught on fire only 40 feet away from the jet fuel tanks located at the airport. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
According to the statement released by the airport, the first fire was observed at around 5:22 am by the staff through the closed circuit television system installed in the airport. Once the fire had been noticed, the alert system sent a message to the Nantucket Fire Department and the Nantucket Police Department, prompting them to rush to the scene.
It was the combination of the two departments and their resources that allowed them to contain the fire with speed. The fire caused a number of vehicles to be damaged. The airport is currently in communication with rental car agencies and agency partners to ensure the safety of everyone in the area.
