Sheryl Sandberg Is Leaving Meta-Facebook

Major EXIT Reported At Facebook – Look Who’s Leaving

( – On June 1, Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Meta, announced she’s leaving her position of 14 years. She served as second in command behind founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. In her post, she told the story of how the two met several years ago.

In her announcement, Sandberg explained she would transition out of her position over the coming months, with the plan being to leave in the fall. The COO ended her post by thanking Zuckerberg for allowing her the opportunity to work at Facebook/Meta and for “being one of the best friends anyone could ever have.”

Sandberg, who was vital to the company’s early growth, will stay on as part of the board of directors. Zuckerberg is planning some reorganization after her departure from the executive staff.

Zuckerberg acknowledged Sandberg’s years of service in a Facebook post and spoke about changes this will bring to Meta.

The Meta CEO admitted in his post that he doesn’t think Sandberg is replaceable in her current capacity with the company. Nevertheless, he named Javier Olivan as her successor. The social media giant’s founder stated the recent growth and changes within Meta require approaching product and business integration differently. We’ll see how they handle that change moving forward.
