Sandberg, who was vital to the company’s early growth, will stay on as part of the board of directors. Zuckerberg is planning some reorganization after her departure from the executive staff.
Zuckerberg acknowledged Sandberg’s years of service in a Facebook post and spoke about changes this will bring to Meta.
The Meta CEO admitted in his post that he doesn’t think Sandberg is replaceable in her current capacity with the company. Nevertheless, he named Javier Olivan as her successor. The social media giant’s founder stated the recent growth and changes within Meta require approaching product and business integration differently. We’ll see how they handle that change moving forward.
