Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Logan Ryan is working with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay as well as his own animal welfare organization to find a home for Cora, a five-year-old terrier mix.

Cora has been left with the Humane society for around 3 months. Ryan has now stepped up and has called for a press conference focused on finding the sweet dog her new forever home. The new owners will also receive a $60 gift card to the Humane Society’s retail store and four weeks of free virtual training with GoodPup. All of that is only available if Cora is adopted before Friday.

Ryan has openly said that good training is key for responsible pet ownership and that the reason why many dogs are returned or that they can’t peacefully coexist with the rest of their household is because they aren’t trained.

The partnership with GoodPup will ensure that Cora will learn all of the rules of her new home and thus, the chances of her or any other pup being returned to a shelter will be limited. Ryan also compared it to having children, saying that much like children have to learn about the household and aren’t being returned, animals should also be treated similarly.

Ryan is a big animal lover and his wife, Ashley, was a volunteer at a shelter. This led him to create “Ryan’s Monthly Rescue,” where he uses his platform to promote dogs that are up for adoption.
