(FeaturedNews.com) – On Monday, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R), during an episode of his podcast “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” predicted that President Joe Biden would drop out of the 2024 presidential race.
He added that if that were to happen, the Democrats would most likely end up parachuting Michelle Obama into the race and have her become the party’s presidential nominee. He argued that this is something that he perceives to be very dangerous.
Cruz argued that Michelle Obama could easily rally the party behind her if she became the presidential nominee. He added further that by having a Black woman join the race, they would not disrupt the party’s politics or push away African American women voters. Obama is also far more likely to gain support when compared to all other possible nominees, including Vice President Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
He pointed out that because Obama was previously the first lady, she would be a unifying choice for the Democrats. In contrast, any other potential candidates could cause division within the party over choosing the nominee. However, he noted that he does not believe Michelle Obama is looking to run for the White House.
Despite Cruz’s predictions and comments, Michelle Obama is unlikely to join the presidential race as she has often stated that she would not run for president.
