(FeaturedNews.com) – Member of the House Oversight Committee and also a Democratic Congresswoman, Cori Bush, stated this week that if one is “anti-woke,” then that also means they are “anti-Black.” In a statement during a House Oversight Committee hearing on environmental, social, and governance on Tuesday, Bush stated that anyone who talks about wokeness and being against it is essentially stating that they are “anti-black” and that they do not believe that black people should have the right to speak for themselves.
She added that these statements were essentially saying that they did not want justice and equality for those people.
The hearing, also known as ESG, does not have many supporters within the conservative ranks of the GOP who widely consider it an attempt for activists to push forward their progressive ideologies, and to force financial institutions and businesses to follow similar ideologies.
Bush continued by stating that for anyone who is saying they are against “wokeness,” wokeness is not really what they are talking about. She added that instead, people should choose to be on the side of the people who are saying that they are woke because they are choosing to end all oppression against members of their community.
She added that you shouldn’t even be mentioning the term “woke” unless you are claiming that you’re a racist, white supremacist, or a bigot. She then stated that no one could argue that she was wrong about this because she is where this movement originates from.
