The embroiled president’s son is facing multiple criminal accusations. Trump referred to a 2020 report from the Senate that revealed Moscow’s mayor’s wife, Yelena Baturina, gave $3.5 million to a company co-founded by Hunter Biden about a decade ago. He questioned why she did this and called on Putin to explain it. The former president said Americans deserve to know this information.
The 45th president also questioned Hunter Biden’s relationship with Nikolai Zlochevsky, a Ukrainian oligarch who owns the gas company, Burisma, which hired Biden as a board member in 2014. There are many concerns since his father was the vice president at the time and responsible for US-Ukraine policies. An internal government memo obtained by “Just the News” earlier this year showed officials worried about violations of anti-corruption policies because of Hunter Biden’s business ties.
The former president’s comments come at a time when a Delaware grand jury is in the midst of a probe into the younger Biden’s potential tax violations and other financial crimes. Hunter Biden denies all allegations against him, but the investigation is ongoing.
